Going into halftime trailing 32-21, Bishop Watterson (23-1) was having all sorts of trouble containing standout Brookhaven (20-4) guard Randal Clarkson. Clarkson torched the Eagles for 13 points and four assists in a high-energy first half that had the Bearcats looking to run away with the Columbus 1 District title. Whatever struggles the Westland Cougars (18-6) had at home just a few weeks ago are long gone after tonight’s enormous victory over Westerville Central in the second round of tournament play, 77-62. Led by Kersey Long’s 26 points, the Cougars ran the Warhawks off the court with suffocating defense which in turn led to transition offense to guide Westland to the win. Continue reading →
